Which cookies and storage this site uses, for what purpose, and how to accept, reject or change your choice.
1. What cookies and local storage are
Cookies are small files a site stores in your browser. Local storage (localStorage) serves a similar purpose — saving a preference in your own browser — but, unlike a cookie, is not automatically sent to the server with every request. We use both mechanisms, described one by one below.
2. Cookies and storage we use
- kn-cookie-consent (browser local storage, necessary): stores the choice you made in the cookie banner (accept all, necessary only, or your custom configuration), so the banner is not shown again on every visit.
- NEXT_LOCALE (cookie, necessary): remembers the language you chose to browse the site in.
- kn-hv (cookie, necessary, 30 days): created only if you submit the /high-value form to unlock a document. Keeps your granted access without having to re-enter your details on every visit.
- kn-hvdr (cookie, necessary): created only after unlocking a document on /high-value, so we do not send you more than one internal alert per document when you finish reading it.
- knergy_scorecard (cookie, necessary): keeps your email-verified session active while you complete the Kiln Readiness Scorecard at /herramientas/kiln-readiness.
- Vercel Analytics (audience measurement script, cookie-less): counts page views in aggregate, without individually identifying you or building a cross-site tracking profile. It only loads if you choose the "Analytics" category in the cookie banner; if you choose "Necessary only", the script is never downloaded or executed.
3. The banner's "Marketing" category
The cookie banner includes a "Marketing" category so you can decide in advance. The site currently runs no third-party marketing or advertising script: this category is reserved for a possible future tool and, until then, accepting or rejecting it has no technical effect.
4. How to reject or change your choice
You can choose "Necessary only" in the banner the first time you visit the site, or change your choice at any time by clearing this site's local storage in your browser (this makes the banner appear again). Rejecting the "Analytics" category prevents Vercel Analytics from loading in your browser.
