KNERGY was present as a sponsor at the C² Cement & Green Concrete 2050 Congress, organized by the Inter-American Cement Federation (FICEM) in collaboration with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the Global Cement and Concrete Association (GCCA). The event was held in Santiago, Chile from May 11 to 15, 2026, bringing together key players from the regional cement industry for the Regional Dialogue for Low-Carbon Cement and Concrete LAC 2026.
Event context: Santiago as a regional meeting point
Chile served as the host country for the congress, and Santiago was the convergence point for representatives of producers, technology providers, multilateral organizations and regulatory authorities from Latin America and the Caribbean. The event featured the active participation of the leading Chilean producers: Cementos Melón, Polpaico, UNACEM and Cbb, reinforcing the sector's commitment to deep decarbonization.
The program included technical sessions on implementation roadmaps, key decarbonization levers, reduction of the clinker/cement factor, recarbonation, co-processing and alternative fuels, as well as nature-based solutions. As part of the practical component, technical visits were made to the La Calera Plant of Cementos Melón, the Concrete Innovation Center of the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, and the facilities of Polpaico Soluciones.
Hydrobooster ALK: hydrogen and oxygen applied to the cement process
At its booth, KNERGY showcased the Hydrobooster ALK technology, developed specifically for the cement industry under the concept "Engineered for cement". The solution integrates hydrogen and oxygen as energy and operational vectors in the calcination process, offering a complementary lever to regional low-carbon strategies through six technical mechanisms:
1. Reduction of specific thermal consumption in the rotary kiln. 2. Greater operational flexibility in the fuel mix. 3. Increase in the alternative fuel substitution rate. 4. Increase in clinker production capacity. 5. Improvement of clinker reactivity. 6. Direct reduction of CO₂ emissions.
The institutional message highlighted at the booth emphasized that "the equipment pays for itself with its own operational savings", underlining a financial model that facilitates adoption without requiring traditional CAPEX.

Additionally, KNERGY presented its portfolio of engineering services aimed at the comprehensive optimization of cement plants:
